The Pragmatic Clinical Trials in POR Certificate course is for current professionals in the field of clinical health research. Completing this course will enable participants to:
The course integrates currently available training, such as the ACRC recommended training courses, while providing additional content, learning strategies, and practical application exercises using real-world and Alberta-specific examples.
The content includes a range of topics that cover the broad spectrum of work required for clinical trials in Alberta. The content was designed and approved by an Advisory Committee of leading experts in clinical trials in Alberta.
Delivered fully online, this course starts with a half-day orientation webinar, and ends with a 2-hour wrap-up webinar. In between, weekly modules offer a mix of live lunch-and-learn webinars and asynchronous content and activities you can access anytime. A project-based group assignment is a key learning activity. This course is delivered over 16 weeks, with external content integrated into the program. It is anticipated that learners will spend approximately 3-4 hours per week on the required activities.
Participants must complete the following external courses before the Certificate start-date. These prerequisites provide basic knowledge, terminology, and understanding of clinical trial conduct needed to support your learning in this Certificate.
This certificate is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
