SCPOR Patient-Oriented Research Level of Engagement Tool

This tool can be used to measure the degree to which a project meets the definition of patient-oriented research as described by the CIHR Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR). The tool uses five criteria adopted from SPOR published documents and rates each on a scale from 1 to 5.

The criteria include:

patients are partners,
patient identified priorities,
outcomes important to patients,
team is multidisciplinary, and
team aims to integrate knowledge into practice.

The Alberta SPOR SUPPORT Unit operates on and acknowledges the lands that are the traditional and ancestral territory of many peoples, presently subject to Treaties 6, 7, and 8.
